Penang Indian Heritage Museum was officially opened in May 2018 and expanded to a larger space in April 2019. The museum is fully managed and maintained by the Penang Hindu Endowments Board. The Indian Heritage Museum Penang features over 2,000 artifacts across five themed galleries, some dating back to the 1900s. The exhibits are organized chronologically and thematically, offering insights into the history and daily life of the Malaysian Indian community.

The museum's collection brings history to life through various everyday items and historical documents:
-The Journey to Malaya Artifacts include old passports, entry permits, currency, luggage trunks, documents, local Indian photograph/portrait, and posters explaining the ship journeys from Madras to Malaya.

-Professions Displays showcase the tools and equipment used by early Indian immigrants in various trades, such as rubber tapping, goldsmithing, moneylending, laundry services, railways (FMSR Era) and a complete barbershop setup.

-Lifestyle Exhibits depict a typical Indian household from the 1930s, featuring kitchenware, furniture, vintage radios and televisions, and children's games.

-Historical Relics Notable items include the Penang state flag from 1951 (predating Malaysia's independence), a functioning 1960s cinema projector, and traditional palm-leaf manuscripts (olai chuvadi) and the stylus used to etch script.

Knowledgeable guides are available to provide detailed narratives and context for the artifacts.
The museum is open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM, except Monday, Tuesday, and Public Holiday.
