International Museum Day (IMD), observed annually on May 18th since 1977, aims to raise awareness about museums' role in cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and peace. Penang's inaugural IMD celebration is an edutainment event spanning two weeks, showcasing exhibitions from 40+ museums, a Beach Sports Carnival, Seminars Programme, Community Programme: Explore the Heritage, Museum Fun Run, Cultural Performances, and more, emphasizing culture, arts, and history.

George Town Festival (GTF) returns for its 15th edition from 19–28 July 2024.

This is the only Sepak Takraw tournament held in a shopping mall. It is organized to elevate the sport as it is one of the famous indoor sports among the youth. Penang Hill Festival’s signature event, “Music on the Hill - East meets West”, is back by popular demand! The exciting evening will feature talented local musicians playing tunes from both the East and the West. The Penang Hill Heritage Forest Challenge (PHHFC) is back for the ninth edition. Hikers and runners are urged to mark your calendars for this thrilling event. The route will lead runners through the evergreen trails of the 130-million-year-old rainforest of Penang Hill, starting from the Quarry Recreational Park and ending at the Dataran, Penang Hill Upper Station.
