This colourful festival is also known as "The Festival of Lights" and is celebrated by Hindus all around the world. Oil lamps are lit and decorated in their homes on Deepavali morning as a way of thanking the Gods for happiness, knowledge, peace and wealth.

George Town Literary Festival is the largest international literary festival in Malaysia. Held annually in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town, GTLF is the most prominent literary platform of free speech in Malaysia and has a specific focus on world literature.
Two championships held in one day with the world best competitors from 30 countries participating and judged by a panel of WDC former World Champions. This event has been organised in Penang for the past 20 years.
The Butterworth Fringe Festival (BFF) is a vibrant and free public street event celebrating the arts, culture and heritage of the classic enclave of mainland Penang. The annual street festival aims to unearth local creative talents while showcasing jaw-dropping international acts at the same time.

The Chingay and Lion Dance troupe members will display their skills in balancing stilt poles during this annual street parade. There will be giant colourful flags and floats, lion and also dragon dance performances.

Following the Pesta Chingay Parade on the island, this cultural and colourful parade consists of a mix of Chingay groups, Lion & Dragon Dance teams, Lion Dance on stilts, colourful floats, traditional drums, martial arts team and school marching bands.
