George Town Festival (GTF) returns for its 15th edition from 19–28 July 2024.

This is the only Sepak Takraw tournament held in a shopping mall. It is organized to elevate the sport as it is one of the famous indoor sports among the youth. Sepak Takraw is not only a good physical exercise but it is also a great way to practice working together as a team. It will help to promote a healthy lifestyle in a fun way while competing in a tournament which the winner will get a prize. Penang Hill Festival’s signature event, “Music on the Hill - East meets West”, is back by popular demand! The exciting evening will feature talented local musicians playing tunes from both the East and the West. We welcome everyone, young and old, to enjoy the music performances complemented by the natural orchestra sung by the “inhabitants” of Penang Hill.

The Penang Hill Heritage Forest Challenge (PHHFC) is back for the ninth edition. Hikers and runners are urged to mark your calendars for this thrilling event. The route will lead runners through the evergreen trails of the 130-million-year-old rainforest of Penang Hill, starting from the Quarry Recreational Park and ending at the Dataran, Penang Hill Upper Station.

The objective of this event is to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of Indonesia to serve as an engine for economic growth as well as a to forge closer friendship and understanding between Malaysia and Indonesia. This event will comprise of over 50 cultural dance group performers from East, West & Central Java Indonesia that will do their performance in Malaysia. Do anticipate a blend of exciting multiple cultural performances waits for all of you in this event!

To commemorate Malaysia’s Independence Day, an annual Merdeka Parade will be organised by the Penang State Government where contingents representing various government agencies will be taking part in the occasion.

Penang Pet Lovers Fiesta 2024 is back. A variety of programmes have been planned to accommodate the crowd during the event. More than 100 participants entered the Beautiful Cat competition for shorthaired and longhaired breed, Cat fashion show and among other programmes there will be a mini petting zoo, pets and an exotic animals showcase during the event. While 100 stray cats will be put up for adoption. Alongside the pet fiesta, game stalls, pony ride, kids inflatable games and many more fascinating event planned for everyone to bring their families and spend quality time together at KBJ.

The annual Trash Free Hill is back for its fifth edition since its inception in 2018. This plogging activity aims to instill awareness about preserving our natural green lung to keep the hill green and clean. No matter if you are new or experienced hikers, all are welcome to join in this call for action.
