Known as an arts hub and a city with bustling arts affairs, Penang is beyond graffiti and street art. Happening for the very first time, the Penang Arts Week, organised by PETACH, brings together a showcase of works by undiscovered artists. During this week, there will be numerous exhibitions of various themes around Penang. The week will start and end with a Grand Opening and Finale at the Penang Esplanade, where there’ll be performances, light show and 3D arts related exhibition.
Amazing animal plant sculptures will be exhibited at Padang Kota Lama throughout the March School Holidays. Immerse yourself in the beautiful light display and laser shows at night. Bring your family and friends and be enthralled time and again by the visually stunning world.
Through different forms of artistic expression, it showcases the creativity and rich imaginations of local young artists and paying respect to a national leader. These are the unique collage arts featuring the portrait of Malaysia’s Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. By using different materials such as pebbles, grains and beans, paper, screw and nuts, nails, eggshells, ropes, buttons, beads, shells, thread and some recyclable items, our young local artists created portraits of the Prime Minister with different appearances and styles.
The workshops are wholly interactive and guided by Alice Ng. During the workshops, you will explore through various interactive experiences to draw out your inner-creative freedom by asking questions, and to be fully aware and mindful of your creative potential by using art as a medium to create your very own art piece. You will do this by bridging the space between your inner voice and your day-to-day living experiences.

sculptures and has been at art centers, culture centers, museums and government
buildings, including the Croatia Museum, Slovenia Museum, Hawaii, Orinda,
Chicago and more. The Beauty of Taiwan Arts Exhibition comes to Penang and it
hopes to create and make a cultural and art bridge to link and connect back to
Taiwan and friends around.
Lee Siang, the Wiring Artist from Nibong Tebal. Back in the 20th century, wiring art was famous in America. At present, it has become well-known in George Town, Penang. Lee Siang, a wiring artist based in Nibong Tebal shows his immerse passion towards wiring art. Started off as a welder, his passion drives him to bravely pursue his dream as a full-time wiring artist, leaving behind his daily job. Lee Siang creatively includes the element of interaction in most of his art works. He believes the walls in between human can be broken by interactions. Through his workpieces, he aims to share the positive energy and happiness to the public.
by Yeow Chye Art Studio located in Air Itam, Penang. The art centre is named
after the owner, Cheng Yeow Chye, who is an artist. The art classes at Yeow
Chye Art Studio are conducted by the artist owner himself, with the help of a
couple of assistants.
40 paintings painted by young artist at Yeow Chye Art Studio will be exhibited.
