The Hokkien Kongsi will be celebrating the birthday of the Cheng Chooi Chor Soo Kong Deity of Hock Hin Keong (popularly known as the Snake Temple) on the eve of 1 February 2017, corresponding to the 6th Day of Chinese New Year on a very gradiose scale in order to meet the expectations and aspirations of the people of Penang as well as visiting tourist including a sizable following of dedicated devotees from Indonesia and Thailand, who make annual visits to the temple on this festival day to worship the Deity.
