George Town Dispensary is housed in a landmark three-storey corner building at the junction of Beach Street and China Street. The side facing the junction has a classical pediment to mark the main entrance. On the Beach Street side is a five-foot way with the dispensary behind it. On this side of the building is the signage George Town Dispensary.

The George Town Walkabout Tour starts off from the Tourist Information Centre at The Whiteaways Arcade and takes you on a leisurely walk through the inner city. You will discover interesting facts about George Town's historical past from its diverse architecture, monuments and traditional trades. One of the main highlights of the tour is the walk along 'Street of Harmony' where you will find four of South East Asia's oldest houses of worship representing Christianity, Taoism, Hinduism and Islam. The tour is open to local and foreign tourists and it is FREE of charge. The tour operates every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10.30am, and registration starts from 10am on the day of tour itself, on a first-come first-served basis.
